I could not be happier with Pantone’s choice for color of the year. I have always been a fan of green – all shades from Apple to Zucchini! But Emerald is a particularly beautiful shade of green and I dare you to find a color it does not look good with. Green, in general, is an easy color to decorate with. Just take a look outside your back door. How many shades of green do you see? From the very lightest yellow-green to the deepest of blue greens, they all work in harmony together. It is the most abundant color in nature and the human eye sees more green than any other color in the spectrum.
Each year, Pantone, the global authority on color, looks at color trends throughout the world, in every facet of our lives, from home interiors to fashion and entertainment, and predicts the up and coming color for the year. They describe Emerald as lush, radiant and lively. Emerald is said to enhance our sense of well-being by inspiring insight, as well as promoting balance and harmony. Expect to see this color popping up everywhere this year. Case in point, Disney’s The Great & Powerful Oz opens in theaters March 8. Coincidence? Hmmm, I think not!
